Eligibility Requirements

Nonprofit organization serving Anchorage in one of the following areas:

Health or human services

Arts

Other

2

Federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status

3

Main physical office located in Anchorage for the past 3 years

4

Articles of incorporation and bylaws filed with the State of Alaska, or recognized local chapter of a national organization

5

Board of directors based in Anchorage with at least 5 members, all 19 years or older

6

Nondiscrimination policy for staff, clients, and volunteers

7

At least 20% or $50,000 (whichever is less) of annual budget from charitable giving

8

Charity Ball funds must benefit Anchorage programs or constituents only. Funds may not be used for advocacy, lobbying, or statewide/national programs

9

Organization was not selected within the past 5 years

10

Only one subsidiary organization per parent entity may be selected

Responsibilities of Selected Charities

1

Provide 40 silent auction items and staff their auction table

2

Sell a minimum of 2 tables (goal: 3 - 5 sponsored tables)

3

Provide at least one live auction item valued at $3,000 or more
